Master Flavor Class

When the pandemic hit, beverage giant Torani wanted to spread joy to its restaurant and cafe-owning clientele and help them innovate during challenging times. The answer: bring them together for an online master class taught by Torani’s expert food scientists to experience the science behind flavors.

Every participant received a box in the mail - their very own flavor kit. In it, an assortment of tastes, delights, and Torani mixers to use while collectively watching the course. It allowed participants to have a shared, remote experience — and saved Torani hundreds of thousands of dollars on its usual in-person flavor experiences.

I served as Creative Director on this project at Arroyo Parkway and had so much fun playing with such a vibrant, joyous and tasty brand. From learning about what kind of pallet you have, to how smell and sound influence our taste buds, to how to scientifically engineer innovative flavor-pairings, this mouth-watering e-course has been translated into three languages and is spreading Torani’s love of amazing flavors across the globe — all while creating an in-person feel from a remote experience.
